Name: Sookie Stackhouse
Fandom: The TrueBlood Series on HBO or the Southern Vampire Book Series – Sookie Stackhouse
Age/Birthday: July 1, 1982 – She’s in her late 20’s in the books and the series so I’m keeping her there, if that’s okay.

Point in Canon: (Numbers and titles to reference the point as well as an explanation of where the character is at that point) I’d like to bring her in right about the time where Eric loses his memory or just got it back. However, if the other characters need to come in I can adjust my time line.

Being: (Human, vampire, demon, etc) Sookie is a Fey, or Fairy. Somewhere there is a hole in the veil between the mortal and fairy world. Many fairies have broken through that opening, just as her grandfather did.
Abilities: (Current abilities at the point they come from, canon abilities only) Sookie is a telepathic., it is suggested that she inherited this from the paternal (fairy) side of the family. (It obviously skipped a generation with Jason.) Continuing to grow into her fairy heritage, those ability tend appear when she’s under duress. Her ability to read other thoughts and wants manifested when she was a child. For most of the story Sookie can only read human minds, with the occasional flash of a vampire’s mind. Sook’s kept this fact to herself, for the fear of her life.

The more Sookie shares a blood bond with someone the more she can read his/her mind. During her character arc, Sookie starts to hear vampires more clearly, and more often. Her aroma, and blood temp other supernaturals or ‘supes,’ many call smell her, due to Sookie's fairy lineage she has a certain appeal to all the supernatural (or "supes") beings. This attraction is nearly always a physical one.

When it comes to the Weres, Sookie can read their minds, though the thoughts are harder to decipher and usually she can only guess their mood.

Appearance: 100+ Words Although Sookie Stackhouse sounds like a porn name, generally Sookie is a Southern lady, accent dripping like honey.

Sookie’s blonde flows past her shoulders; accented by her porcelain skin. Small, not petite, she’s a fireball. Many would referrer to her voluptuous chest, or call her very well endowed or buxom. In stocking feet, she’s five feet five inches tall.

Sookie’s hazel orbs can take up in, seizing one up; unfortunately Sookie tends to be a rather naive person, not always able to count on her gut.

Her face is always expressive. From the frown furled over her forehead when she’s fighting to keep the voices out, to the blush that lights her face when she receives a compliment; anyone who knows Sookie, notices these things.

Sookie walks tall, something from having been teased as a youngster about her ‘gift,’ she feels the empowerment her Gran taught her on a daily basis, which enables her to deal with the comments she hears about herself. Never one to think she was beautiful; she always refers to herself as just a barmaid.


History: 3+ Paragraphs Born in Bon Temps, Lousianna; Sookie and her older brother Jason were raised by their adoring grandmother, Adele Stackhouse.

Early on, Sookie knew she was different. During a family picnic, she first showed that she was telepathic by talking to her parents about their family’s monetary problems. Frightened and looking for answers her parents took her to a psychologist who diagnosed Sookie as mentally ill. Once she was given validation by her father during a business deal when he asked her to listen to the thoughts of a potential client. Her family never recognized her telepathic powers.

When Sookie was seven her parents were killed in a flood; at that point her grandmother became her world; not only loving and kind; Adele or ‘gran’ as they called her, treated Sookie’s ability as a gift. Later in her life she found that her grandfather was also telepathic. Befriending Tara, the two girls became best friends. The daughter of a single alcoholic mother, Tara sought refuge in the Stackhouse household.

As a child her great-uncle Bartlett began to molest Sookie and her cousin Hadley. Her mother never believed her stories about her strange uncle, but her grandmother did, banning him from the household. In a fit of anger, Bill kills the child molester.

Her entire life, the townspeople have the misconception that Sookie is strange, weird or mentally ill. Once grown, she works as a waitress; at Merlotte’s, the local bar. Always referring to herself as just a waitress, she has a low self-esteem. As she matures her telepathic powers do as well, eventually she learns how to control them and keep people out of her head.

Seemingly the brunt of a myriad of horrid incidents, Sookie’s powers expand, eventually she learns that fairy blood runs through the patriarchal side of the family. Her abilities make her incredibly attractive to vampires and other supernatural creatures. Sookie is drawn to vampires because of the serenity she feels around them, being unable to hear their thoughts.

Her telepathy works best when she has physical contact and direct eye contact. All of her abilities are unknown. Her telepathy manifests itself as pictures, images and/or incomplete thoughts; she does not ‘read complete sentences.’

She is susceptible to some supernatural powers; however, vampires can’t glamour her.

In Sookie’s world vampires are a part of everyday life, many using the synthetic liquid, True Blood.

To Sookie’s delight, a vampire finally comes to town. She finds the vampire, Bill Compton incredibly fascinating. They begin her first relationship, as her telepathy ruined all of her other ‘opportunities.’

Soon as series of murders begin in this small Southern Town; unwanted by the majority of the town folk who do not are not sympathizers, they assume the worst silently naming Bill the killer. The killer is finally discovered, but not until he kills gran. During this time, Sookie discovers another talent, when the killer comes after her in the bar; she is able to scare him off. Finally, all is revealed. Vampire Bill is not the killer. During this quest to find the killer, Bill takes her to the Vampire bar, Fangtasia, where she meets Sheriff Eric Northman, Sheriff of area 5, who will become the most important man in her life. But before that can happen, Sookie makes a deal with Eric to use her telepathy to help out the vampires just as long as no human comes to harm.

Traveling to Dallas with Bill, Sookie continues to make good on her promise to help Eric. Godric, one of the oldest Vampires is missing. A religious sect, the ‘Fellowship of the Sun,’ is responsible for the missing Vampire, Godric (Eric’s maker) dies, starting the bond between Sookie and Eric.

In her next adventure, Bill is missing. On Eric’s orders she goes to find him with the help of a werewolf. Unbidden, romantic feelings are born but the quest for Bill overshadows any true feelings that might develop. In the end they save Bill but not without a great deal of personality clashes. She meets even more supernatural creatures or ‘supes’ as they’re referred to in the book.

One night, to her surprise, she finds Eric running half-naked, with amnesia. Sookie takes care of him. This Eric is totally different and much more vulnerable. The gang battles a coven of Witches.


Personality : 3+ Paragraphs Fighting for the things she believes in regardless of how the consequences of her actions might affect her is typical of Sookie Stackhouse. Passionate is another adjective describing Sookie. Stubborn to a fault, she is as loyal as she is stubborn.

Education is extremely important to Sookie as is family. Sookie tends to babble, particularly when she’s nervous. Soft-hearted, she tried to do the right thing. Her Gran was definitely the most influential person in her life.

Rarely looking before she leaps, Sookie will do anything for a friend. She finds the world a fascinating place. Sookie is drawn to dangerous men and/or supernatural creatures. She loves hard, trusting just as much. Tending to be more reactive than proactive in everything, her lack of planning things out tends to place her in dangerous situations that she might not otherwise be involved.

First Personal Sample: 100+ Words"Du lukter så godt, elskede.." Eric replied softly, with a sound that gave me chills small ones that ran throughout my body like warm sunny fingertips on a cold day.

Elskede, did he mean that? In my heart I had to hope so, hello, vampire. Trying to figure out him out is impossible. Like I said all along, you can’t just wait for Mr. Right, he never comes along, and if he is, he really would be too good to be true. You can’t trust that. I don’t find them ever too good to be true. If the perfect man does exist, h he’s never made it to Bon Temps.

Instead, I deal with all of these as mad as Eric makes me, he’ll say or do something that is so typically un-Eric he ends up touching my heart. I could never tell him, he has a romantic, loving side, but he’d tease with one of his typical answers.

Elskede? Was I his love or his lover or both? Probably neither, did it matter? It was Eric.


Third Person Sample: 300+ Words
Her head lay on his chest, his arm leisurely swung around her as if to keep her to him. Unless she was in danger, Eric truly slept like the dead.

Her beautiful blond hair fanned out behind her on the pillow. Together in their nakedness they were beautiful, an adaptation of a tastefully photographed art piece. His chest felt cool on her cheek. She could never quite get use to it.

Turning on her back, Sookie looked up at the ceiling lost in thought. So many things happened since she met her first vampire, even more since she met Eric. Loving Eric was something Sookie never expected.

Remembering that first night in ‘Fangtasia,’ she was excited; he was commanding. He’d wanted her then, Bill sensed it, she hadn’t. At times she’d even hated Eric, now he was irritating, infuriating and totally frustrating,

When he made her mad, which seemed to happen on a regular basis, she wondered if it were just so they could have make-up sex. That was a theory she held for about a minute-and-a half, he’d have sex whenever and wherever he wanted. It was someone of a game to him, at times he was like a puppy, granted a deadly one; but a puppy who loved to play, particularly with her.

During one of their fights, as she pounded on his chest; he would just let her hit him when she was angry, standing there amused. Honestly how could she hurt him?

He’d called her lover, which she found strange; rarely did he call her Sookie. When she was angry all she thought about was how much he was using her. She needed him to give her some clue to his feelings; things had changed now that his memory was back. He hated showing emotion other than sexual, it was then she learned there was only one other woman in his life he’d ever called lover, his wife, causing her to realize just possibly there might be emotion hidden deep inside.

Eric had an economy of words, meant to have double meaning, but that one confidence – those two words in answer to her question told her everything. In thousands of years there had only been one other, his wife, whom he truly cared. He’d never admit it, that wasn’t Eric. Those words were simply an answer to her query. It was in his honesty, that she understood the un-beating heart they lay beneath.

“You’re awake,” the corpse like state he’d been in filled with life at sunset, his words caught Sookie lost in thought. Pulling her close, she knew he would be hungry for her, all of her. The anticipation rushed through her body like an unexpected volt of electricity. Turning back toward him, she wrapped her arm around him; he took her other hand and kissed it.

Quietly she answered him, “I’ve been watching you sleep.”

Did you read the rules? Yes I read the rules. I was unclear if the journal had to be a separate journal or not. I assumed it should be different so I created a new one. I read both sets of rules.
